A/N: I'm writing right now a sequel to this drabble, I guess I didn't resist *grins*

 

Merlin feels awful. He’s alone, shaking and sobbing silently, remembering all the people that were dead because of his bad decisions. He couldn’t even save his father from dying. Now all Camelot is outside, celebrating a victory that Merlin can’t share. Traces of smoke are coming from his blue lips thanks to the cold inside his heart and bones.

“Merlin, why are you here alone?” Arthur is beside him suddenly, touching his face. “You’re freezing! Come here.”


In seconds Merlin feels the heatwaves coming from Arthur's body entering his soul. "I'm sorry," he says, asking a forgiveness Arthur couldn't give.
